Denise Mele- Studio Director

tap/jazz/lyrical/musical theatre

Denise Mele, originally from the United States, has been residing in Canada for the past 21 years.  She studied with Rolann B. Evans (Miller)in her early years and the studied under the direction of David DeMarie and Leonard Castilone in Clarence Center NY in all forms of dance.  After studying in New York at Broadway Dance Center, she went on to perform in various shows in the United States, the Caribbean and Canada including Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Bermuda, Reno and many others as a dancer, choreographer and dance captain and company manager.  She has also been a regular adjudicator for the Miss New York State Jr. Miss Pageant.   Her experiences as a performer then brought her to Canada where she opened up a dance studio.  Danceology has been under the sole direction of Denise since 1992 and continues to thrive and produce well-rounded dancers.

Danceology was one of the first dance studios in the area to compete in hip hop back in the early 90’s.  She started putting students in dance competition when there was not even a category for hip hop dance. She has choreographed for various pop stars for music videos and performances over the years.  Her studio is always welcoming new artists for choreography and draws in names such as Luther Brown, Danny Fernandes, Trish, Tyler Medeiros, Massari, Mia Martina and many , many more. Denise is very proud of her years as a teacher and always strives to keep her students up on the latest in choreography by traveling to New York ad LA and offering workshops to her students.   Her dancers are now working on cruise ships, productions shows, commercials, movies, as Raptor dancers, TVO’s Pop it, Blue Jay dancers, Shaw Festival and Stratford.

Denise has always had a passion for teaching and working with children and continues to teach and adjudicate and pass on her love for dance to students of all ages and levels.  She is very happy to be still doing what she loves to do….teach dance.  20 years of Danceology!
